Hi, i work at a company who only till very recently started focusing on PMO, we are in the process of establishing this. However looking for good PM software that we can move to, currently using Netsuite but could do with something which has good dashboards etc.. Saving Changes...
Start by first getting consistency to a set of principles by the leaders, stakeholders and team members delivering projects. Once there is consistency in behavior, tools are a good way to improve efficiency.
Otherwise, you are just automating and visualizing chaos.

Herminder,
Do you have the Advanced Project module in NetSuite? I believe there are dashboarding capabilities within that.
If you're looking for a project management tool, consider it a project in itself. Have a sponsor, charter, requirements, RFP's, vendor selection, implementation and adoption/change management. There are a lot of PM software options out there!

First you have to align these with the IT policies from your company. There are good tools in the market, and these depend of size of projects, price of tool, IT support/updates, etc. I work in an engineering/architecture design company (consultant side), and depending on clients and projects we may work with Ms. Project, or Primavera P6 (as we as consultants, do PM, but also our clients). If you think in a tool without thinking that a tool is just a component inside the solution as a mean to support process and methods then you are failing into "the silver bullet syndrome". With that said, you have a lot of good tools for free and not free outside there. I have used lot of them because I was in charge to define all related to this topic in my actual work place (and before). Saving Changes...
