They had the data all along - all they did was start to share it in an easy to consume manner. This does beg the question - who have they shared/sold it to before COVID-19, and what were they/others doing with that?!?

Dear Kiron
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for the fantastic questions you raised
But the information they share in the "Community Mobility Reports" is very useful, it is no less true

Have to agree with Kiron. The data has always been there, they've just put it into an easy to read format for public consumption. Makes you wonder what other data they have available related to the pandemic they could publish?

Dear Jason
Thank you for participating in this reflection and for your opinion
They certainly have the data we provide them about us.
PMI (and therefore ProjectManagement.com), like Google, has a lot of data about us.
The important thing is what they are going to do with them :-)

I do not know if this happened to anybody else, but when I checked the report for my own home country, Ireland, from the list of countries, clicking on it opened multiple tabs on my web browser that I was forced to close the web browser.
Maybe there is still a few glitches in the system that need ironing out before it can go fully live.
All the same a nice thought by Google and using the huge amount of data they gather on a daily basis for something constructive.
