Wow, this is amazing! It is unbelievable that the PMP exam is now available online. I wonder how long it would have been until this milestone without COVID-19.
I also notice there is a 10-minute break baked into the exam. I always felt it was a bit barbaric to force individuals to withstand 4-hrs with no break, or to keep the clock running during a break. Like above, I do wonder if this was a change that would have come about without C-19?

When I took my PMP exam in 2003, there were others in the exam room doing 7-hour exams. Seven hours!
The big gotcha I see is the inability to have any scratch paper. That will prevent folks from doing brain dumps or from sketching things like logic diagrams or decision trees or working through formulas. It would be ideal if Pearson VUE could provide an online virtual whiteboard for people to use instead...
***UPDATE*** Sunil Prashara responded to my comment on his LinkedIn post confirming: "I’m happy to confirm that the exam has a built-in calculator feature, as well as a built-in whiteboard for notes." Saving Changes...
This is great news. However, I think there still some gap between the PMI announcement & Pearson VUE. When I reached out to Pearson VUE asking for the same, they said PMP exam is not available online yet. So, it may not available to schedule/re-schedule immediately. Could be region specific as well...not sure. Saving Changes...

Thanks for sharing - It's interesting to see this coming to light.
For the 10 min break, I am not sure if I call this an advantage given that you can't go back and review any questions that you completed in Part I (Before the break).
What if someone doesn't want a break ?
What if someone doesn't finish on time for Part I ?
Do you have any clarity about the above points ?

unfortunately I have no insights into these questions but similar ones have been asked in the REP discussion group on LinkedIn. If answers are provided by a PMI official, I will post those here...
Yes, valid questions. The 10-minute break does sound like a double-edged sword. It's not clear if the break is automated into the exam (like after 2 hours into the exam) or at the discretion of the test taker....some may not even want to take the break or may finish part-1 earlier or may wish to take it as per their exam strategy.
The pace to answer the part-1 would also be critical now, since you can't review the answers before moving forward (part-2). So you have to be sure of the answers for part-1 before moving into part-2 of the exam.

This is good news (in the time being) Kiron.
However I have bad practice (for two times) when I tried for CAPM.
Unless they fix the gaps between PMI and PearsonVUE the test taker will have some major risks.

Can you elaborate what was bad about your experience so everyone can be aware ?

As example during my PMI-ACP , at midnight an application start doing auto update in my PC ( this things can happen because we have many applications on auto-update), they blocked the exam instantly, I contacted them by the chat box that is available to contact the operator so that the exam become available again, they took about 20 minutes to solve the issue, the timer of the exam never stopped and the lost time were never recovered , furtenelly, even so I had no major problems to complete the exam on time.
But little things like this ones can happen.

Yes, I still remember that I have checked in for twice and the proctored guide asking me for three times to reboot my laptop , he told me he has a problem with video feed then I lost it.
The second time it was a problem of our Firewall which blocked the OnVue.exe from running suddenly.
I also noticed that OnVue.exe application continuously updated (average of two days).

This interesting, thank you Alexnadre. This is why I don't like to take exam linger than 2 hours at most from home. It chould be challenging in so many ways incuding loss of connection for any reason.

For the future, this can be prevented by (if using Windows) opening Task Scheduler as an admin and disabling all scheduled tasks.
