Just to precise with another point of view : to write information is not only to "brain freeze", this is also because I am better with taking decision when I have information in front of my eyes than just in my brain.
Also, manipulating formula (CPI, EV, BAC, EAC, TCPI...) is easier by writing with a pen in my hand than doing it on a whiteboard software.

I am considering to take the PMP exam online but have some doubts:
- are earplugs allowed? (Pearson vue page only talks about headphones forbidden)
- how user-friendly is the whiteboard tool? (i.e. how good it works to build a critical path schema with 6-8 different activities and durations? - I assume more time consuming than pen and paper)
- info typed or drafted in the whiteboard remains there for the rest of the exam unless you wipe it? ( I assume yes as the initial post is referring to “brain dump” possible on this feature)
- is the proctor interrupting too much? (I heard about they intervene anytime they see the minimum disruption on your gesture to avoid any cheating)
- questions are the same than the site exam or there is a dedicated bunch of them not appearing online (for instance, the ones that require multiple maths or sketching, that would be less user friendly online)
Anybody who has passed the online exam could please provide inputs? Many thanks in advance Saving Changes...
Whiteboard is easy to use :
- I had to a 1 network diagram (take more time compare to do it on paper but it's ok (the authorized time with 10 min break to go to washroom compensate the additional 2 minutes you need to do diagram on whiteboard)).
- no formula calculation for EAC...(maybe removed since whiteboard ?)
- I didn't try to brain dump as I didn't feel it was necessary. In my session : no question for a process particular order, no ITTO
- my room was quiet, then no earplug needed (except a bird cooing during 5 minutes near my window)
- absolutely no interaction with the proctor (even when you have to start or once you finished, no "hello", no "good bye", which make me stange in this world without minimum communication, even when you are under supervision of somebody during 4h)
Good luck for next ones !
