Is there anyone here who is a PMP in the oil & gas industry? I feel like we manage projects a little differently than how PMI determines a 'project.'
I guess we will see.. I submitted my application today to take the PMP test!
I have been using the PMchallenge questions to help in my studies and some questions relating to Agile are listed. Does the PMP Test cover any agile methods?
Thanks and any tips on better preparing me for the exam will be helpful! Saving Changes...
The current exam has almost no questions on agile based on the recent exam takers who I had queried about this. The new exam (launching at the beginning of next year) will be 50% agile and hybrid-focused.
I would not trust the PM Challenge questions as a reliable resource for exam preparation so look into one of the quality practice exam question sources available out there.

Hi Mark,
The projects are no differently managed, it’s the same waterfall methodology. Very specifically I have seen most companies in O&G do a FEED (front end engineering design) so that it reflects the specific requirements and avoid significant changes in their execution.
Can you elaborate the difference you spot. Saving Changes...

Like Ganesh, I believe that project management transcends your industry. Perhaps things are labelled or done differently. At the end of the day, you likely have to consider similar knowledge areas and complete equivalent processes. Saving Changes...
