What do you think will be the impact on projects and project management of the outcome of the UK elections? There's talk that NPfIT will be disbanded, and several other large government projects will be cancelled. What about the impact on the Olympics? Or working with other countries on international intiatives?

The focus is to cut spending, reduce deficit, this will impact on Government projects wilth local authority spend reduced. I dont think it will impact on the Private Sector it will be business as usual but the ethos and the approach is to increase contractors in delivering projects\solutions reducing internal overheads - it is already happening. The Olympics will go ahead, UK has committed itself and there is no going back, there are big brand name sponsors that are and will support the Olympics from start to finish. What is a concern is the hung parliament that has unstabled the pound this morning. As for working with other countries on international initiaves Europe may no want to invest in the UK if the Hung parliament is not resolved quickly... watch this space.

Regardless of the outcome of the hung parliament, all parties are going to have to cut the deficit. I think the private sector could well be affected if business taxes rise - projects are often one of the things companies cut back on in austere times, as we have seen recently.

If business taxes rise it will be determined by government; Labour if they remain in power. Business cant stagnate on the basis of business tax increase - it will mean prioritisation of projects.....
