Catchy article title; but I'd consider dropping the word "project" from the title.

After reading the article; all of your points are screaming "lack of organizational leadership" to me. This organization sounds like it has much larger problems than just managing projects.

Of course, this could be reality in some organizations who really don't care about their ROI, or their employees or their customers.

That was the Project Manager that was before formal project training came into our world! you know the type, hardly any experience, non leader, making ad-hoc decisions, unreliable planning, no budgeting or planning skills, not good with soft - people skills, nil process knowledge, no business acumen.

No, we dont have bad project managers they would not survive in todays organisations - they became extinct many years ago!

You wouldn't believe how many organizations out there are running shops with incompetent PMs (or Managers for that matter).
