The "C" word of course being COVID-19 or the coronavirus. It seems almost every news story, post, even product or service being sold has the coronavirus banner waving. Millions of jobs lost, crumbling economies, ridiculous restrictions and of course the death toll are surely enough to remind us of the "C" word. The media and social media pariah’s fill our every waking moment with a mixture of "C" word facts, falsehoods and propaganda. I am not arguing the validity of such information; merely the sheer volume of it. Saving Changes...

Yes, every time we turn around that word and a number of news stories are there to greet us. Talking to my team the other day, it's very apparent we've all grown numb to the facts and figures. If we had to do a shot every time someone said Coronavirus or COVID-19, we'd be passed out by 9AM.
But, it's a risk and reality we have had to navigate, and thankfully I've been able to stay employed and be surrounded by a fantastic team.

Thanks Jason. Good to see you and your team are not shell-shocked by the constant COVID-19 stream.
The media will do what they can to sell advertising space and to increase mindshare. That doesn't mean we need to slavishly follow everything they are repeating.

Maybe we will have to adapt our lives to the new normality, with the virus present everywhere.

As November comes closer, I'd expect US media to shift their focus to the elections. And all we need is a few shark attacks worldwide in the summer to get the media to chase that next bright shiny bauble...

For me I changed perspectives and I see this as just another disruption. As such there are uncertainties, and ups and downs.
We discussed disruptions before, in the technology and business space, some lost, some won. This disruption helps to speed up things. And I agree, it is leading into a new world order. Not sure if it will be a new normal.
As uncertainty persists, it is human to look for answers and be open to new networks and information. I learned a lot in the past weeks and met a bunch of new good people.
The only major thing that bothers me is that we as project managers are not really relevant in helping other to get more secure. We might handle it as a threat to our projects, but I fail to see opportunities we grasp.

Hi Thomas, I would tend to agree with you however I do believe that some opportunities will arise in the field of health and security.
I also believe that will be increased demand for the development of applications that will permit tracking of patients and things of the sort.
