This month's topic is, drumroll.........

Global PM, which includes virtual teams, remote projects, culture, communication, etc.

This is fitting given the current landscape due to the quarantine and isolation restrictions we are under. This means instead of going to the office, we are simply moving across to another room in the house or apartment.

While for some of us, this is not much of a change from our typical work scenario, it does in fact make for a significant change for many.

As a leader in our profession, how are you modifying your approach and toolkit to accommodate this change, and secondarily, will it be sustainable as we approach a new normal, where what we called normal 2-months may forever be changed?

Like the waterfall/agile debate, the truth is probably hybrid. I believe that there will still be a need for face to face and co-location, but I believe we have also proved that we can be effective from home.

Think most actual teams were established before the lockdowns.
So they knew each other, could have established trust, understood the joint mission and now adapted to virtual working. Many even like it (no commute, no boss looking over your shoulder ..).

How to create and enable a new team for a new project? How to make them know each other, establish a team culture, brainstorm and communicate only thru the screen?

We are actually looking for such option for new project kickoff. It would be good if I get some ideas for an effective project kickoff while working from. I will post a query in Project-Management-Central Group.

Interestingly, the ensuing virtual events allow larger audiences to participate. The question becomes how to be effective with audiences that fill more than your Zoom screen?
