Hi,

Is reading the Scrum guide from Scrum.org and taking the open assessment (until you score 100%) enough to take PSM I certification?

How can you assess if you are ready? Are there other recommended courses & simulators that one must take to pass the exam or can crack the exam without them just by self study of the guide?

Thanks,
Mohit

Hi,

I am planning to sit for the PSM1 exam in next 2 days. Have been taking open assessments & constantly scoring 95%. Plus have taken additional practice test.

On a final note, I would like to know if the real test exam questions are situational (like PMP) where you have to apply the knowledge of the concepts or they are more descriptive based on concepts defined in Scrum guide?

For example:
Would the questions be like "You are a Scrum Master working on XYZ project.......how would you deal with the situation? Or they would more likely be conceptual - "Can a Scrum Master add/remove items from a Sprint Backlog during a Sprint?

Any input would be helpful to assess if I should prepare more or give the exam.

Thanks.

The guide itself is not nearly enough to pass the exam. I passed my exam by taking the practice test multiple times...however the exam itself still called on many situations not explicitly covered, so you will need to think critically.

I agree with the above that your best resource for the exam is the practice exams, and real world experiences.

Thanks Kyle. Somehow, the PSM seems like the most ambiguous exam I have learnt about. There are many contradicting experiences, preparation strategies and feedback shared by those who have passed/failed it. Don't know what to expect from the exam.

I guess I will just give it a short and see....there is no end to practice (to assess when you are ready) :)

Hi, just wanted to ask a quick question. Will Scrum or any other certification count as PDUs towards maintaining PMP certification?
