With the advent of cloud, I would like to hear what new challenges will be faced by a business process manager and which traditional ones will continue to haunt him? What does a Business Process Manager want to be successful? Saving Changes...
I do not think the cloud really changes the challenges of most business managers. The biggest problem that I see is still how to get your business needs translated accurately and efficiently into binary form. Whether that binary representation executes locally or in the cloud is a pretty minor issue. Saving Changes...
I am not sure what you mean. Maybe you can tell me what you think some of the challenges that the coming clouds will be or give me some more context to you question.
Thanks,
Craig

ok.. what % of the business processes in any organization would be orchestrated (designed and modeled using a BPM Tool) and what % would be unorchestrated? How confidently an organization can say that their "as is" business processes actually "really is" that wends and meanders thru their system/infrastructure?
Business process manager maylike to observe where the waste and variations are more prevalent and try to analyse variations quantitatively to enhance the process.

The challenge is
1. How stable is your business process or What business process change management are there in place?
(keeping in mind the changing demands of business)
2. You may find some answers to orchestrations if you analyse
1.a. Which business processes support you to orchestrate with freedom
1.b Which business processes confines you not to orchestrate
(think about learning curve, maturity etc)
3. What is the cost afford-ability to technology and technology upgrades .E.g To be honest, I suppose the cost out weigh realization as of now take any technological BPM tool. Some may have different view.
4. BP to Binary as quoted by Alex to be worth noted. Saving Changes...

I feel cloud does not have any impact on BPM . Alex is correct stating that Business process need to converted to binary form without missing any critical information.
Remember cloud just provide based for storage of your application and business would not run in cloud rather its application .
