What is the best PMI Certification for an Operation Manager.

My wife just passed her PMP examination a few days ago. Excited with her success in the certification examination, she wants to have another PMI certification. As an operation manager with an Independent Power Plant, which other PMI certification will be good for her. Her role is just keeping the plant running and ensuring the safety of the operational team. He also carries out plant maintenance and other activities regarding the power plant.

Why would she need another PMI certification if she is a primarily operations role? I'd suggest a power industry-specific certification, or perhaps one in lean might be more useful.

Thanks for your response. Do you know of any certification (Internationally) recognized that would be profitable to her? I would not like her to go to PMI again, rather any other certification will be better. She is a Mechanical Engineer with 8 years of professional experience.

Assuming she has the ability to contribute to continuous improvement efforts in her role, why not consider a lean six sigma yellow belt as a starting point?

Congrats for your wife’s success. While I agree with Kiron in principle, I find PMI-ACP a good next step or she can look at taking a certification in change management since she works in operations.

PMI-ACP certainly would be a good choice. The PMP would help your wife meet the requirements for the exam.
