I have the opportunity to work on domain. When I worked there I used Agile based methods for creating software and non-software products. More than methods we tried to apply Agile because it is about to apply a way of thinking and behave more than a method. I did that before PMI-ACP exists (I have the certification). With that said, when I decided to go for a certification I made my own estimation about future market demmands. PMI-ACP was a generalistic certification about Agile based methods mainly used on software but in the last years I saw a tendency to converge to Scrum framework. On the other side, if you ask me, you should wait about the orientation the PMI will take regarding PMI-ACP and all related to DA certifications.

You are welcome. If you see the evolution of PMI-ACP it has a constant growth in the last years. I was one of the first in the world to be certified (third in the world first in LATAM). I was noticed about that by the PMI but it just a comment because it do not make a difference. It was funny at this time because there was not a single source to study and when you took the exam you had to wait some time to know the result. So, presented to the exam demmanded a real experience using at least the four main methods/frameworks: DSDM, XP, TDD, Scrum. I select it because the generalistic scence of the certification (I had DSDM related certifications at this time). While I really do not know it I guess that getting PMI-ACP will help to get DA related certifications because I think the PMI will put the focus on DA for all related to Agile.

Hi vinay,

If you look at the certification roadmap of DA you will see that PMI-ACP could be used to upper from CDA to CDAP automatically without references, as DA is an hybrid toolkit the content is on some way overlapping the content of PMI-ACP and if you already have experience in Agile in my opinion you obtain more value if you get a DALSM instead of generalist certification as PMI-ACP.

I agree with @Sergio, in this matter I didn't wait and I am regretting the fact. I am PMI-ACP and CDA for the time being. I bought the choose your WoW book an now they are offering to the members. I am paying two memberships to DA and PMI and I heard rumors that in the near future everything will become one, joining also Brightline.

So, probably waiting now is the better strategy. Read the book of PMI-ACP an DA make your decisions, after all is free of charge now and knowledge doesn't hurts. The only problem is that the PMI is announcing changes almost a year and this changes come without notice and many of them are transitory yet.
