I am aware of a number of PM maturity models, but, has anyone come across a certification for organizational project management practices/processes (e.g. ISO9001)?
This question has come to me from a colleague and I personally am not aware of such a certification, but, I thought I would do a little more investigation...

ISO 21500 is in development, but it won't be released until 2012. Would that be any help?

Organisational project management process is one of the practices to be adopted in CMMI-v1.2 for achieving higher maturity level.
The entire organisation has to prepare for project management style of functioning.

If you refer to CMMI references ,probably you may find the answers

I echo Howard's comments. Siz Sigma, TQM and BPM are great alternatives. If the standard is imposed by some project he is working on, I think it's best to comb through the standards. It's monotonous but it's THE source of truth.
