Commute may be easier from you bed to your desk next to it. But understanding what it takes to succeed in the new work from home is not as obvious.
Rehearse, Rehearse and Rehearse
During you Webcast meeting don’t wait until you’re on screen with your stakeholders to realize that your lighting is so poor that no one can see you. Like professional photographers use: two lights from both sides of you as well as the lights from the top. Also, make sure that the camera’s angle doesn’t have a panoramic view of your messy room or dirty dishes as your background. Some Web conferencing systems have virtual backgrounds. So use them.
Grooming Still Required
Even if company’s dress code is casual do not show up to the Webcast meeting with your robe or pajamas.
Smile, Smile, Smile
Even if you are not on the web cam positive attitude still carries through. Smiling brings an upbeat tone during your conversation.
These Are Difficulties Times
Everyone is stressed and as meeting leader show empathy and leadership by acknowledging that the tough times. And, that by working together we will prevail. But the meeting time is not the time to dwell or be distracts from the tasks at hand. So make sure to keep your meeting on track to the task at hand to what it was called to discuss.
Be Flexible
Distractions will happen. Technological glitches will happen as well. These things will pull you off from your course. So stay flexible. Acknowledge these glitches and keep going. Saving Changes...
