Hi everyone!!! I need some Help. I started to study for the PMP certification test just now, but I have a doubt. Should I take the test before the changes announced for January 2021? Or wait for the next version of the test?

I really appreciate your help.

Best Regards and Thanks.

if you meet the prerequisites now, I'd highly recommend taking it before the changeover at the beginning of next year. There is more than enough time at present for you to study and take the online exam assuming local test centers don't open by the time you are ready.

The main reason for this is that there are many good study resources available for the current exam and zero ones available for the new one. Those are unlikely to be available or of a high quality before the new exam launches and even then, they may be somewhat inferior for a few months after the change.

Yes, do it now.

The process of preparation is a proven one now and supported by many artifacts and people. And it comes with known cost for you.

Nobody knows what will be next year.

And why waste a year?

If you have it, you should still consider to deep dive in the new exam content and probably new PMBoK next year, as a means to stay up to date. I did deep reads of each PMBoK since 1996 and learned a lot from each edition.
