System in the PMIS context is not software system. That´s key to understand.

I was referring to Project Management Information System [PMIS] as an "out of the box" PM solution to keep track of projects, a la MS Project. I'm looking for something like that which can be easily customizable to follow the PMBOK processes with respect to knowledge areas and processes. Do you have experience with Primavera 6 by chance?
Most PMIS's will support any type of life cycle and phases but where challenges might occur is specific nomenclature e.g. risk responses in a RAID log component.
The good ones will enable you to customize the configuration to fit the nomenclature of your organization.

Hi @Rosemary. Yes, I used Primavera. Just to comment with the aim to add some value. I was in both "sides of the desk" working in a seller of tools and as a user of them. My recommendation is: the software tool has to be aligned with your defined portfolio/program/project management process and if the process is aligned with the PMBOK you complete the loop. Addtional to that you can select a tool that can be as parametrizable as possible to support changes or cuatomizations in your process. I have experienced lot of well known products some free and some paid. Today we are using Clarity and we are migrating to Microsoft Azure DevOps. All our process are based on PMI standards.

A Risks/Actions/Issues/Decisions log. If the PMIS allows you to configure or customize the choices for things like risk response strategies then you could use PMI's standard set for threats and opportunities.

Thank you so much! I was so confused not to find anything as much powerful as the PMI approach to project management. Primavera seems to be copy-pasted from PMBok. That is exactly what I was looking for.
