Hi Lenka, there is always that challenge. Nothing can ever beat the quality of a face to face communication, but it's something that one can get used to.
Something I never quite understood in previous organizations is the value of video conferencing tools, until I realized that many things can be conveyed wrongly when done solely over black and white text. Maybe take advantage of opportunities for a quick call instead of an email whenever you get the chance? Saving Changes...

I concur with all points on body language, informal hallway/coffe chat interactions often revealing deeper issues or providing a catalyst for positive "ah ha" moments.
I have also noticed that in video base chats we are not looking at the camera so at the other end it feel as though none of us are making eye contact. Even though I'm an introvert who will often look anywhere except in someone's eyes during "thinking" interactions, I have been surprised at how unsettling it is to feel that I can't make eye contact when I wish to!
