Greetings,

Does coordination present a greater challenge for global virtual teams engaged in software development?

Frequently, geographical distance, multiple time zones, language differences, cultural differences and lack of trust are reported as having an impact on a teams' ability to coordinate.

I am a researcher based in University College Cork (Ireland) and I am involved in a research study on the subject of coordination in global software development virtual teams. As part of this study I am conducting a questionnaire.

As experienced practitioners in this field, I would very much welcome your participation in the questionnaire.

The questionnaire is directed towards any individual who has worked on a software development project as a global virtual team member. Your candid and thoughtful reply would greatly assist the study (and be greatly appreciated). The questionnaire should take no more than ten minutes of your time. Your individual response and any comments will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

Here is the link to the survey:

Thanks again for your help.

Sincerely,

Gaye Kiely

I'm afraid I can't help, but I'm sure plenty of people here will be able to. If you haven't already, you could contact the BCS and ask for input from their members too. Good luck with your research!
