PMI ASKING FOR PAYMENT AFTER THE PILOT EXAM

The PMI offered all Pilot Exam takers a free chance to retake their exam in event of failure of the Pilot Exam.
Surprisingly, the PMI website is again asking for payment to retake the exam.
Is the procedure for retakes complicated, is the PMI expecting to refund after payment or this is not even envisaged?
I have written to customer-care over this without reply (their auto-response is complaining about the COVID-19).
The system around the Pilot exam was a great mistake in all ramification and I regret taking the exam. The PMI failed to adjust to it, harping on COVID-19 always and our time was grossly wasted.
Please, has anyone gone through the payment for retaking after the PILOT EXAM?

PMI response system have been so poor, aloof and leaving people perplexed. Will the PMI give promo codes for Pilot test retakes?
The website cannot even detect if one is a chapter member, the customer-care is not responding and time quickly ticks away.

HI PMP aspirant,
It is true that the COVID-19 period has affected the PMI customer care's rapidity in responding to queries. I have personally experience that too, but I will urge you to exercise just a little patience. PMI will surely look into the problem of the exam fees for retaking Pilot exams... Keep preparing.....
Best wishes

What I know is if you failed the pilot exam, the retake of the exam is for free.

I am sure PMI will respond at some point. It can take up to 7 days as far as I heard from others.
