Hi Gurus,

I hope everyone is doing well during the times of COVID. I have found myself unemployed, however enjoying the time off (big smile).

I have been actively searching for a new position and noticed this trend where companies are hiring project managers to fill the role of PM AND Program Manager. So they want you to manage a program but also want you to project manage the projects in the program! Is this new? Are there any of you who are currently working in this split role situation? I would love your feedback. Be Well!

The trend in the industry is to get more work done with fewer people- increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Multitasking is a given and roles are becoming fuzzier. A successful leader is one that has dirtied their hands in multiple roles and responsibilities.

I have not really noticed an increase in the scenario you describe but from my experience, I would say that the practice is not really that uncommon.
