PMI Certification Physical Certificate

Just wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing delays in the physical delivery of their PMI certifications recently, or if PMI has changed their policy. It could very well be delays due to COVID-19, but thought I'd check anyway in case I wasn't the only one. Cheers!

Thanks for posting the question, Jonathan.

I received the notification it could take 8-10 weeks. Is this what you are experiencing? Or, is it further delayed.

In the meanwhile, digital certificate and name on PMI registry is helpful and pretty much what employers would look at.

Even normal case as well it was notified that 10-12 weeks for the physical certificate receipt.

Now, due to COVID-19 outbreak it would be delayed for sure. I am also experiencing similar delay since March'20.

Anyhow, digital certification would hold good for all official purposes.

I spoke with customer care regarding an unrelated issue and they did tell me that anything going through the mail will experience a significant delay due to people not being in the office.

I know this thread specifically mentions the physical certificate but I'd like to know when/how I'll get the digital certificate.

I took and passed my exam earlier this week and other than the "congratulations you passed" message at the end of my exam, I haven't got anything from PMI. Is that normal?

I passed my PMI - PBA examination in Feb, and received the hard copy of my certificate at the beginning of May. Now, due to the COVID outbreak, it will surely be delayed furthe.

I did hear about delays, but with no specific timeline.

In fact, I'm waiting for the hard copy certificate since, I passed PMP exam on January 25th, 2020.

I'm too. Certified on 29th May 20, until now, there is nothing arrived my mail box, except monthly electric expense :D

Folks -

I don't believe PMI will be reinstating paper certificates being sent via mail any time soon. The PMP Handbook mentions access to digital certificates but no reference to paper copies.

So, download a copy from PMI's website and get it printed in color from a local print shop on good quality paper stock...

I am quite disappointed PMI make this decision.
Many company HR dept won't accept digital copy, because of it can be modify and hard to verify. I think most recruitment dept won't spend time to PMI registry and check the status of applicant certification.
even though all of us renew the PMP cost $60 and membership annual renewal fee is $129, but not get a piece of paper, I would reconsider whether renew pmp for next time.
