If the same than the difference between method and models. A model is an abstraction, a representation of the reality. In communication the basic model is sender-mean-recevier (perhaps in the PMBOK you wlll not find the mean, something I have debated lot of times). Then you have to use the model in some way. That´s the method. For example, with the model I stated you can use it using an interactive model (simliar to a chat), you can use it using a push model (massive emails sending for example), using a pull model (massive questionaries for example, and so on.
