I am a member / participant of several groups of project managers (and others) to think about how to cope with the current disruption.
So yes, there is some thinking, experimenting and even solutioning going on. It is tightly related to thinking about the future, which is much more open than a year ago.

I personally think of this as a big glass full of pebbles shaken up. They will settle down (until shaken again), but in a different configuration. For the individual pebble it may disastrous (or beneficial), for the whole glass it is only positive, opens up for new things and gets rid of illnesses. Saving Changes...
Researching, developing and launching a vaccine requires project management skills so I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few members of the community who were directly or indirectly involved given the large number of parallel efforts underway.
I'd also expect that many of our members were in the healthcare industry as well as in manufacturing - they would also be indirectly contributing towards a solution.
