Is there a value in PSM if you already have CSM?

I'm currently looking for a new job. I have a PMP, CSM and CSPO and am wondering if there's any actual value in adding a PSM to my list as my search is going glacially due to COVID.

If I already have a CSM, there a value in my taking the PSM I? Would it help to have BOTH for purposes of hiring / promotion? From what I've seen the CSM and PSM I are basically similar certifications and while the PSM exam is more difficult, it's not really dramatically different.

I'd skip it. Once you commit to Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org, continue to progress within their respective certification families.

I agree with Kiron with regards to skipping it. Both have the same value somehow and PSM is gaining more popularity lately.

However, thinking long term, please keep in mind that if you follow the Scrum Alliance path, you will need to renew you certifications every two years while with Scrum.org, you don't and the scrum.org certifications are awared by the people who actually developed the scrum framework.

Hope this helps.

Renewing shouldn't be a problem for me as a lot of the content providers for Scrum Alliance and PMI overlap. I also might get an advanced certification from there in the future.

I like the concept of the PSM not expiring but unless I truly need both for some reason (ie, hiring or promotion), I'd like to wait on it.

This sounds like a reasonable decision Susan.

When I mentioned renewal, I wasn't specifically talking PDU's but more of cost.
