Did you check the 'new' Agile certifications on PMI's website?

Hello,

Has anyone checked PMI's website about the 'new' Agile certifications? https://www.pmi.org/certifications

It seems to be a way for PMI to position the PMI-ACP credential amongst the DA certifications.

Looks like the basic DA certificate is gone. There is a new 'value stream consultant' I don't remember seing that certification on the DA website before.

And the DASM might be attained with self-paced study (check the diagram on https://www.pmi.org/certifications/agile-certifications)... However I cannot find anything about that on PMI's website or the DA's website.

Any thoughts about that?

Thank you

Chantal

The PMI agile certification pages are going to continue to be updated over the next week or two as they add & refine content about the new certs.

The DASM is the new "basic" DA certificate. The old CDA just required you to take a DA workshop and pass an exam and that's basically what the DASM requires. The DASM course could be taken in person or via an on-demand option.

The DASSM is the replacement for the CDAP and DALSM certifications and is specifically aimed at agile leads with 2+ years of experience.

The DA VSC is the net new certification.

The timing for availability of courseware and exams will be announced shortly by PMI - nothing is available just yet.

Thanks for the detailed feedback, very helpful. Do you know when they will be swiping our DALSM with DASSM ?

I also hope they issue badges as it’s easier to showcase it especially on a website.

Kiron,

Many thanks for this detailed feedback indeed. I'll revisit PMI's website over the next few weeks to learn more about these changes.

Not sure about the exact dates for the grandfathering over to the new certs but certainly before the end of 2020. I believe badges through Acclaim are also expected...

Thanks Elaine! Frank Tassone has posted a re-imagined version of the PMI agile certification roadmap in the LinkedIn Disciplined Agile discussion group which does a much better job than the PMI one at showing key details of the certification progression.
