Amrapali,

if you mean getting the 60 PDUs to recertify in 3 years, my advise is to start now. It is hard to get them in the last few months. Sandeep has good examples what to do. I might add here present knowledge yourself, in your company, to a Chapter, at conferences ...

If you mean you want to stay current with the PMP knowledge, you may also consider to coach or teach people preparing for the exam. Their questions will make you better. And try to stay current means to understand the changes introduced with each ECO and each PMBoK edition and trying to apply the tools and techniques you learned about in your daily work.

Hi Amrapali, in addition to Sandeep and Thomas's points, I highly recommend to take up projects within your organization or community and start applying the knowledge you gained in your PM study to successfully initiate, plan , execute, monitor and close projects. Start using the project management templates that are available on PM.com or elsewhere and you will be surprised to see what we studied in theory in the PMBOK guide converting into reality and you will also gain confidence this way.
Attending webinars may help you earn the PDU's but if you truly want to keep learning then attend some training sessions and take out time to update yourself on the happenings in PM community through PMI

I completely agree with all the points, and I am glad to read about giving back to the community - another option we should bear in mind.

Hi Amrapali, I am going through a like process here to maintain PMP and grow beyond that point. I found that the webinars right here on projectmanagement.com are relevant to my work, add to where more info is needed, and cover the PDUs one hour at a time. For instance, growing in agile is next.
