it is unclear to me what you mean by Proj initiation week.
A SOW (statement of work) is provided mainly if you are asking for external contractors to do a part of the project work, and this part is described in the SOW.
If you are talking about the two processes in the PMBoK Initiation process group, those are mainly creating the charter and the initial stakeholder register. Saving Changes...

Statement of work (SOW) is only a narrative document which defines project-specific activities, deliverables and timelines for a vendor to provide services to the client.
Whereas a project charter is a formal document describing whole project, which is a crucial ingredient in planning out the project, because it is used throughout the project lifecycle.
I'm considering the opportunity passing the PMP exam and getting certificate. I just started my way preparation.
Am I understand right that exact number of PDU is only needed for approval of existing PMP cert? I mean it is not needed to have it before first time certification.
Am I right or not?

You are right, Yulia.
PDUs can only be gained AFTER you are a PMP and do only apply for recertification after 3 years.
