How to Enter Project Management Field

Hi there! Thanks in advance for reading this!

I'm looking to make a career change into the project management field. I'm a bit lost as to what my first steps would be in doing so and gaining some project management experience. I've started to take a couple courses on PM and I'm studying to take the CAPM. Happy to have any suggestions as to further actions to landing that first job!
