Hello all,
I have a Prince2 certification and I will take PMp certification in the future months.
I have worked for 20 years in bank industry.
I would like to access to a project manager position, but not obvious when you haven’t experience in these field.
I’m wondering if these certifications have to be completed by a project manager Master’s degree ?
Without "real" project management experience, how will you apply to for your PMP certification as you require significant hours of project leadership experience?
I'd recommend skipping any further education in the profession and focus on trying to get sufficient experience first. You may need to start as a Project Analyst or Coordinator which are stepping stone roles to a PM position. Also, consider volunteering for your local PMI Chapter as that will help with your networking.
Good luck!

Thanks Kiron for your answer.
I wanted to say no experience as project manager but I have many experiences on project activities : business expert position and business analyst position.

If you were performing project management tasks then that counts but other than that I assume not. With 20 years of experience in bank industry, I would assume you’ve done PM activities but again, if not, then you better redirect your strategy like Kiron mentioned,
