Book: A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)–Sixth Edition

In this day and age with the ability to quickly lookup information about anything that you need to know, this book seems as if it may not be worth the $100. I did stop by my local book store and found it. After picking through it, I truly don't know if it is.

For those who have bought the book, how often do you use it as a reference?

I use it mostly when teaching my PMP prep courses or when I want to find an official definition for a term. I also make a point of reviewing and reading through each edition (since the 2nd) when they are published.

As a PMI member, you have free access to a soft copy of the Guide, so unless you are old school like me, stick with that.

The Seventh Edition is launching in early 2021 so if you did want to spend money, I'd wait till then and pick that edition up.

Kiron,
THANK YOU! I went looking for it and found it! I greatly appreciate it, they definitely did a good job selling it and not mentioning the free download at the bottom of the page.

I personally have the 5th and 6th editions. I like to have hard copy of the guide as I am old school. I like to mark and put notes on the book itself. However, it is worth mentioning that the paper quality for the 6th edition guide is not as good.

Unless you have a reason for needing the physical book now I'd use the online version you can get for free and wait for the next edition.

I'll be honest, I have the PMBOK in paper form but I rarely use it since I passed my PMP
