All, I have an upcoming interview for project manger systems position. This is my first project manger interview and I am wondering what types of questions I should expect during the interview process. It is a panel interview. If you have any ideas from previous interviews, please feel free to share it with me. Thanks Saving Changes...
A web search for "project manager interview questions" returns a bunch of examples. Many of them are close or variations of the examples Kiron offered.
I have not had the pleasure of interviewing for a PM job yet. Do well!

A couple of common questions are:
1. How will you build a high performing team?
2. Your project is in trouble (e.g. behind schedule and/or over budget). What will you do?
3. What was your greatest failure as a project leader, what did you learn from that, and how have you applied those learnings?
Kiron
Thanks Kiron. Saving Changes...

Interview types vary by employers. Mine uses a process where each candidate is asked a series of questions where you are asked to describe a time in your career when you had to demonstrate some trait they want like problem solving, working with difficult people, ethics, team building, among others.
Write down a list of your best stories in your career that highlight your selling points, so that you can pick a story that illustrates the desired trait if such a question is asked. This becomes your portfolio of demonstrated successes.
If that kind of question is asked, briefly describe the situation, describe how you personally were able to affect the outcome, and then what was the result.
Kiron shared a few common and good questions. Saving Changes...
