Good Morning,

I am active duty military (U.S. Coast Guard) stationed in Omaha, NE. I am currently enrolled at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University working on a BS in Project Management. As part of the program and requirements for many of the classes, we are required to interact with a mentor each week. I was hoping someone in the PMI network might be able to help me out.

Info from the course:

There are numerous benefits to having a mentor. One important advantage is the effect he or she can have on your future career by helping you realize and develop your potential.

Look for someone you respect with the following qualities:

Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is desired, but not necessary.
Can commit to meet briefly (email, text, virtual, etc.) each week.
During your meeting each week, you and your mentor will discuss specific topics that are covered in the course. Feel free to provide your mentor with a list of the weekly discussion topics.

Each week you will share what you learned from your mentor in the form of a log post.

Thank you!!
Shaun Wunch

Thank you for this suggestion @Kim. This reminds me @Shaun that many chapters in the US have a military outreach contact which would be a helpful source for mentoring connections.

Best of luck Shaun, Welcome to PMI Network...1
I'm in the same class as Shaun and need a mentor as well. I tried registering for the PMI chapter here in Tucson, Arizona but there is a problem with the payment system right now. Would an experienced PMP care to be a mentor?

Hi Leslie...While I do agree that the local chapter is a very good option for getting a mentor. If that is not working for you, I will be happy to be an individual mentor. Please feel free to reach out at [email protected]
