Hello friends,
I am writing my PMP exam tomorrow morning (EST) and need small clarifications.
Can you please help me know:
1. I believe the new online exam requires less memorization. What kind of things should still be memorized even for the online exam?
2. What happens if the internet disconnects momentarily during the exam?
3. If connecting through Hotspot is not allowed (actually I find it more reliable than my home internet)?
Thank you for your time to help me out.
Best,
Jatin

Hi Jatin,

Memorizing or brain dump is a personal choice, based on how comfortable you are with the practice. Personally, apart from the formulas, I don't think there should be a need to memorize anything else. But again it depends on an individual's exam prep approach. The exam being online doesn't change if or what you should memorize, what might change is, it will be difficult for you to do brain dump since the whiteboard online (digital tool) is not as handy as a sheet of paper. You may lose time.

Regarding the internet, well, it is always recommended that you take the exam in the best possible environment with a reliable internet connection. In worst case, you can always contact the PMI help desk in case of a disconnection (usually the live assigned proctor tries to call you back to check) and they can help - either to restart the exam or reschedule it - depending on the issue.

Hope this information helps.

Good luck with your exam.

Thanks Mohit. Appreciate your inputs.
I couldn't find anything against the use of hotspot for the exam.
Is it ok to use the hotspot connection by placing the mobile phone far away in the room? Or the mobile phone should not be available at all in the room? I know you are not the authority to answer specifically - you can share your point of view.
Thanks again.
Best,
Jatin
