I am not understanding why PDUs are indicating approved but not applied.
One in particular, is the giving back as a working professional. I work in the field and entered my particulars. They were approved but none were applied and I am very confused about it. Also it is the major way that I am giving back at this time, and according to what I have read about that entry.
Kindly enlighten my understanding on this. Note - I have already written to customer care; hoping for a quicker response from the community. Much thanks. Saving Changes...
This usually means that you have either reached the maximum number for that category of PDU for your recertification cycle OR you are before the start of your recertification cycle and have hit the limit on carry forward PDUs.
If you review the continuing certification requirements handbook, it will let you know the maximum numbers for each category. For example, for the PMP certification, giving back is limited to 25 with a maximum of 8 for "Working as a practitioner".

Hello, I have a similar question. However, I just started the process of getting my PDUs for renewal. Thus, the limit has not been reached for any category.
But I have PDUs Claims as 1.25, PDU Approved 1.25, only .75 was applied. There are 2 other examples.
Please explain. Thank you. Saving Changes...
This might happen if the credential you are claiming for only accepts PDUs from one or two (but not all three) of the Talent Triangle categories.
For example, if the credential only accepts from the Technical leg, and the overall claim was 3 but the Technical leg only had 1, that's all you'd get credit for...

Thank you so much Kiron for the info. From your reply, I have another the question: - I chose a webinar from the PMI site, the session was tagged with multiple categories such as: leadership, power skills, IT strategy, etc. How would I know what area to tally and what fraction of PDU will be awarded? Thanks, Tien

Good question - normally, any course or presentation which is eligible for PDUs should specify how many apply to each leg of the Talent Triangle. If they don't you'd need to figure this out for yourself based on the content. Assuming its a one hour webinar, I'd pick the leg which it best aligns with and apply the 1 PDU to that.

Have to bring this up again. I've had 8 PDUs in all three areas and was about to claim more (as practitioner and so on) to be ready for re-cert.
Today I realized that from 8/8/8 I am back at 1.75/2.5/7.25.
When I check the details I can see that a lot of PDUs have been set to "applied = 0". But two weeks ago they all were applied obviously (stats overview stated 8/8/8).
After a chat with PMI they told me that you should claim your PDUs while not being behind a VPN network (i.e. Office laptop). It's recommended to do it on your private notebook! Go figure...
I have to re-claim all PDUs again from my private notebook.
I am 6 weeks ahead of my re-cert so I hope this works. And maybe this information will help other members. Saving Changes...
