Hello All,
As we all know the PMP exam is changing next month and I have heard is the main change will be that the exam will now be focused on Agile up to 50% of the course content. If this is correct, what do you think will happen to PMI ACP certification? Will it be discontinued or become absolete?
Any thoughts?

Wasim.

PMI-ACP will not be discontinued as far as I am aware.

Wasim -

The ACP is here to stay for the foreseeable future - it has its place in PMI's agile roadmap similar to other DA-focused agile certifications. There is a difference between the PMP which is clearly focused on the role of a PM and the ACP which is for a "practitioner" who could be anyone from a Scrum Master to a team lead.

Hi,
This year I attained a PMP and PMI-ACP certification. I do find both very complementary, even if the PMP will incorporate more and more Agile concepts. The path to both certifications is a valuable journey and the PMI-ACP pushes you a bit more to dive into Agile. I was very pleased that it was framework neutral. Currently I'm part of a transformation team to implement SAFe at Argenta (medium sized bank-insurance company in Belgium) and I was more able to challenge and improve the transformation.
Next year I will probably dive deeper into SAFe at the portfolio level.
