Microsoft SharePoint as a Primary Project Management Software

Hey,
Is anyone using Sharepoint as their primary Project Management Tool? I have read online that it can be used, but I am interested in hearing the experiences of people that have actually used it for this purpose. Lay it on me, did you like it? would you recommend it? tell me everything!
I used SharePoint as my primary PM tool several years ago, while working for a small non-profit. I had to configure everything and create templates to reuse for other projects, but I enjoyed figuring it out. It probably helped that I was the only PM - only one set of requirements.
It was fairly straightforward. Set up a project site. Set up the task list, issues list, risk list, stakeholders. It comes with a document library. The GANTT chart wasn't the best, but did the job. Everyone had access to see and update their tasks, but getting everyone to do that was a challenge, at first.
I won't say it was fantastic. There are more robust tools, but we had a server available and the software was part of our license, so we didn't pay extra for it. It helps that I was a power user, before. If it had been a larger organization, with more projects and project managers, I might have gone for a different tool. Saving Changes...

In my actual work place we used it from long time and we are using it as collaboration repository today. In my opinion I can not say if I like a tool or not because the tool is decided based on the environment and mainly the defined process in place so I adjust to it or not. For me there is not an "ideal" tool. What I can say about sharepoint is it was enough flexible to adapt to all the changes we introduce because at this time we were in the process to refine our process and it was great to collaborate with internal and external teams. I stopped using sharepoint on every project several year ago because most of the team members didn't took profit from it.
I got back to use it this year since it is incorporated on the office 365 and on Microft teams.

If the project is small enough, I think Sharepoint alone works perfectly well.
However, for more complex projects, I'd consider adding in another tool like MS Project and linking it in the sharepoint site as large complicated excel files can be a pain. Saving Changes...
