What did you achieve in 2020 both Professionally and/or Personally ?

The below is me for the year 2020 ending:

1) set up NGO www.healthcareforafrica.co.uk (Healthcare Relief), supported 4 countries with free donations of medical consumables during the COVID-19 period.
2) Managed international logistics to deliver these items to hard to reach areas in these countries
3) set up www.pottershollow.com as a clinic, pharmaceutical and lab arm of the above NGO
4) managed complex projects in KSA for the new metro lines.

For me, this was a good year:

Traveled the world virtually, giving 30+ webinars/podcasts and keynotes to Chapters and non-PMI groups in Asia, LA, Africa, US and Europe.

Mentored 8 people from across the world (2 each from US, LA) and 4 locally, refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Eritrea.

Participated in meaning-finding groups to find new answers to old but seemingly new questions.

Read a lot about how humans and communities can strive, it is about ethics, integrity, how the brain works, how to influence.
From systems theory we know that a system has capabilities that its parts do not have or even understand (see a bee hive) - I am wondering how to enable human communities to develop capabilities beyond individual competence.

Volunteered for my local Chapter group in beefing up their monthly meetings, e.g. with people from my network.

My wife and I are closer together (you may say not a big deal - but hey)

I attended more funerals than in the last 20 years.

For sure I should increase my sports activities (according to ADKAR I am missing out the D).

2020 was a true example of Dickens' quote from A Tale of Two Cities: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times".

I was a lot less busy due to the financial constraints which the pandemic imposed on our clients but am thankful that I still got enough teaching work to keep me from going stir crazy.

I couldn't maintain my work out routine to the same level as when I could go to the gym six days a week but adapted to working out at home.

We had to cancel our long planned cruise to Spain & Portugal but were fortunate that we could still visit India and Dubai right before the pandemic travel restrictions commenced.

We adopted a puppy and re-learned the joy and struggles of raising a "wee one".

I became the world's first DALSM (more a luck of timing than anything else) and was content with that as my sole certification for the year.

I gave countless presentations at conferences and meetups - the two highlights for me were keynoting at the Central Ohio chapter's PDD and presenting at the Poland Chapter's international congress day.

I converted a number of our courses over to Miro for virtual delivery after initially being extremely reluctant to teach virtually. I got so hooked on Miro that I have become the highest contributor in the Miro online community and landed a few brief gigs to help folks set up workshops for the virtual world.

I contributed to a number of knowledge items at Standards Plus - creating some and vetting others.

And I am closing out the year by having submitted the draft manuscript to a publisher for my first book. The cover and interior design are underway and I hope to have it published by the late Spring.
