This year has been a very interesting and unique one. As the year comes to an end, and given we are one big community / family, it would be interesting to hear about each other’s achievements during the year:

- What did you achieve on a professional level ?
- What did you achieve on a personal level ?
- Did you follow a certain plan you set ?

Hi! No plan - but I was finally able to get back into a PM role. Manufacturing Engineering wasn't for me - my passion and expertise lies in the world of PM. And most importantly I took a company that was very skeptical about having a PM at all to one who totally embraces project management! They were scarred by a PM in the past but I seem to have turned that attitude around. Lots more progress to make, but so far so awesome!

Great accomplishment - Good Lucck in 2021. Keep us posted with your progress.

I have not been on here for a long time. I think this is a good post to come back on. I will say that this has been a crazy year at times.

Professional life:
-I have been working from home since March. That did take some major adjustments since I really missed people.
-I started the year still trying to get our PMO going. This had been a struggle since I started the journey due to the fact that I wanted to forge ahead and my manager was hesitant about upsetting anyone.
-It was a very frustrating time, I was bored, I was extremely under utilized and I started looking for a new job again.
-Everything changed over the summer. I was able to position myself in front of the right manager and renegotiate all of our telecom relationships.
-First he was going to share me with my old manager, but after a few weeks he decided that I needed to work for him full time.
-Since that time I have been super busy in a good way.
-First project was securing hotspots for students in our County who were doing remote learning.
-I was given the task of negotiating with vendors to restock our assets that had been depleted when quarantine started and everyone needed a laptop to work from home. I became the Order Asset Manager. This expanded greatly with the CARES Act which provided funding to local governments to allow for teleworking. I was in charge of managing and tracking 20 additional orders from our agencies for equipment and software.
-I also became the Enterprise Software Asset Manager, again negotiated the best pricing, managed the subscriptions and ensured our agencies actually paid for their subscriptions.
-I am still managing the Telecoms
-I am involved as an advisor in several projects.
-I have been slowly working on ITIL4 certification.
-Been introduced to Service Now and am planning additional training possible certification.
Personal life (not so balanced):
-This has been a struggle since I have not been able to do the things I used to.
-I did some home projects. I keep reorganizing rooms in my house.
-My cooking skills have drastically improved.
-Finally bought a new car after 10 years.
-I contracted Covid in October, but was lucky that it was a mild case.
Dinah

Good to see you back here, its been a while. Wow, you've had such a Journey this year.

I am sorry to hear about your COVID case but I am glad you are doing well now and fully recovered.

Good Luck in 2021.
