Hi all, I was not able to clear PMP in my first attempt planning to retake the exam within 15 days. Can you share your suggestions on how many days gap is goof for retaking the exam and how I can overcome my problem of time malmanagement in the exam ( i was able to answer only around 140 questions in my 4hrs time but in practice exams, i was able to complete them in 3hrs 45 min)

I have 3 PMI´s Certifications. Into each exam I finished the exams 20-30 minutes before. I passed them in my first intent. My strategy is this, just it could help: 1-I did not spend time to try to answer a question after I read it, I understand it and I have doubts about the answer. I mark it for revision. 2-After complete all the questions I go to review those marked for revision and I made the same than in step 1. 3-It was not the case but is better for me to check multiple times instead of spend time trying to solve a question in one step. Just this worked for me. One final reflection: the only thing that matters is to pass the exam. If above or below average for each topic does not matter. The objective is to pass the exam.
Thank you Sergio for your valuable suggestions, will follow this.

Dear Suresh,

Best thing would be to identify areas which are bothering you and review the PMBOK. While doing mocks ensure you gain about 70% correct. Try and target 1 mins per question so that you can get some time for tough / calculation based questions. Be calm while giving exam and sleep well prior to exam day.

Alternately, make sure you read PMBOK - COMPLETELY , maybe two chapters a day. Typically people miss / skim through sections before ITTO, but these parts hold a lot of insight so make sure you cover it.
Thanks, Akash

Suresh,
Great advice and recommendations given here already. Practice, prepare, be rested. Also, practice your 'brain dump' onto paper. Be confident, you only fail when you stop trying! Much success to you.

Hi Suresh,

As others have suggested, practice with the PM PrepCast Simulator or Rita's Fast Track Simulator. Also, try PMI's free mock exam as well.
