I am already eligible to take the exam in 2020 and infact I was scheduled to take the exam on 22nd December 2020 but the centre cancelled the appointment due to new covid restrictions in Germany.
As I understand, I will not be able to take the old structure of the exam in 2021 and even though I can still take the exam in 2020 I am ready to take up the challenge of answering the new 2021 exam.
The question however remains, how do I prepare for this new exam? there are no resources on the internet, no mock tests, no question banks, no books recommended by PMP (the 7th edition of PMBOK is still not published)
Does anyone have any tips? I asked the PMI customer support and they replied "please keep looking at the updates on the PMI website, there will be something on this soon"
PS: I understand that 2021 exam will be a bit tougher but I am up for the challenge.
On a related note, I am also a bit annoyed that PMI is turning out to be a money making machine rather than an institute that should be responsible for taking project management forward. They talk about a PMP Prep Course 2021 on the website and the cost for this is 799$ wow! and I also hear that only PMI will be allowed to conduct Prep courses from 2021, so this makes it even more ridiculous. Ajankumar,
congrats for your positive attitude. Have you looked into taking the exam from home?
The 2021 exam will not be based on PMBoK 7 but still use ed6. Generally, the exam content outline (ECO) tells what will be in the exam. Download both old and new versions to compare. The old ECO had a similar structure as PMBoK 6, but the new ECO differs significantly from both the old ECO and the PMBoK ed6 and upcoming ed7.
Think the agile practice guide (APG) that came with PMBoK 6 is a key book to look for agile knowledge required for the exam.
Good luck! Thomas

There are a few PMI training partners such as RMC who have updated their study resources in readiness for the new exam, but I'd be leery of any of those until a few months have passed after the launch and they've had a chance to refine their offerings.
Hi, I am prepping to take the 2020 exam in the next few weeks online. I used a lot of books from my public library and accidentally borrowed an exam prep book for the 2021 exam - it was by Kim Heldman entitled PMP Project Management Professional exam and the book was structured for the 2021 groups of People, Process and Business Environment. You may want to start with that book to give you a feel for what the new exam will look like Saving Changes...

It appears you are very well prepared to take the exam this year considering your planned date of the 22nd is still a few days out. I would explore the online exam option from the comfort of your home, save yourself the stress of having to re-read the old material and the newly updated material. Saving Changes...
Rita Mulcahy's exam prep is a good option. Check it at https://rmcls.com/. This study package is actualized to changes for the January 2021 exam ... Saving Changes...

To start with you should not worry too much on the likely differences between 2020 (old pattern) vs 2021 (new pattern). For one PMI exam is not theoretical but application of concepts. Fundamentally, majority of the concepts are not going to change. The only change that I feel is likely to be more stress on Agile principals (which PMI has been hinting on since they provided the Agile booklet with PMBOK 6). Based on my reading of your question and presuming you have been referring PMBOK6 as your base material, I feel you are well prepared and should go ahead confidently whether you are appearing in 2020 or 2021. To be more direct, if you would have passed 2020, you should not have issues passing 2021. Saving Changes...
