PMP certification and job postings

I have my PMP certification, but I am still having a hard time finding a position centered around project management. My current position is moving in that direction, but I would like to grow as a Project Manager learning the correct skills and following the correct processes. Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions for me?

If you can't sell the value of PM to your company and how you should be in a more focused role, then growth might need to come from outside your company, either by volunteering and leading projects for a charity or similar organization or by looking for a new role.
