Hi all. I failed PMP exam.
I will try to pass again. I will use Rita Mulchahy book 10th edition and would like to use exam prep simulator.
- What can you suggest? Which exam prep simulator is good? I read it will be more questions with graphics
- Is the exam pass score about 63% now? Will be the same pass score at 2021
- Which is the best way to understand difference between the old 2020 version and 2021 new version of the exam. I think it will be more questions about Agile and graphics
thanks for your answers

Sorry to hear.

I read the pass score was 61% for the 2020 exam.

The new exam will be 50% Predictive and 50% Agile, covering 3 domains
-People 42%
-Process 50%
-Business environment 8%

I don't know if the passing % has changed but I'm looking into it.

There is a lot of info on the Exam here: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/project...xam-preparation (including a Course Outline PDF)

PMI will also be offering a free 'Bridging' Course on Jan 22 for those who have been studying for the 2020 exam but are taking the 2021 exam.

Sorry to hear that, Viktor.

There are a number of resources including a mapping of exam content outlines available from the main PMP page here: https://www.pmi.org/certifications/project-management-pmp

I've also (separately) posted a thread in this group about a bridging course which PMI is offering starting mid-January to help folks who prepared for the old exam to write the new one.

Finally, please be aware that PMI does NOT publish an official pass score for the exam. The 63% is just an educated guess.

Hello Victor, I am sorry to hear that you have to retake the test; you will find the 2021 exam more intuitive.

The questions are more judgment-based and less about memorization.

Also, there are several new types of questions, such as matching questions and interactive charts and graphs.

PMPrepcast has a wonderful exam simulator. I recommend that you take a look at it.

They have also updated the simulator for the 2021 exam.

Exam is based upon the Exam Content Outline - EOC.
You can access the current EOC here: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...xam-outline.pdf

Versus the 2021 EOC which is here: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...7871.1609327653

There is a good video about the differences here: traffic.libsyn.com/pmpodcast/PM_Podcast_...09_11_PMP_Update.mp3

There is also a free bridging course available from PMI - you can sign up here: https://www.pmi.org/learning/training-deve...d-online-course

Good luck. I take the PMP 4th Jan - really nervous given all the changes.

Greetings Viktor,
Sorry to hear you didn't pass. You haven't failed until you stop trying. Good question on passing %. PMI.org has some info posted about the new exam, including new exam content document, but I wasn't able to find the required passing score.

Keep trying, practice, much success to you.

Rita's book is good at understanding the process groups and how they flow. I strongly recommend Andy Crowe's how to pass on your first try. I got the book, did the practice exam, the flashcards, and the companion CDs. I put them on my IPOD and listened for weeks. I heard their voices while taking the exam.

Sorry to hear that. What I would suggest is to first identify your weak areas and study from Rita then solve the questions and see your performance and work accordingly.

Hello Viktor, I too was unsuccessful. Comments that I have read here are very informative and have encouraged me to plan to retake. But it is clear that one needs to understand better one's difficiencies. Feedback provided by examiners I have found superficial. I wondered if there is someone to get more/better feedback.

Viktor - I applaud your commitment to re-take the exam. It's very challenging and likely made even tougher in the current environment.

One tool I found very helpful in my preparation was the practice exams from PMTraining. They have already prepared ones for the 2021 version. You can find out more here: https://www.pmtraining.com/pmp/practice-exams.

Just a note; I'm in no way afflicted with them, I just found their practices exams to be helpful for my preparation. Good Luck!
