Confused on the mapping between ECO outline for 2021 Exam and the sections of the 6th PMBOK

The last column (tilted "Alignment to the Old ECO") of the table of the following PMI document maps the topics of the new exam content outline with the sections of the PMBOK (6th edition). Question: Which sections of PMBOK they are referring to? For example, the first five rows of that column in the table are referring to sections 3.1, 1.5, 2.2, 2.5. Where are these sections in PMBOK?

Not sure I follow your question? The PMBOK Guide is organized by these sections. For example, section 3.1 (The role of the PM) starts on page 51.

I am confused myself. This is in regard to my following post (https://www.projectmanagement.com/discussi...-the-new-ones-) where user Veroneque Matadin responded the following:

"Go over the new ECO outline for 2021 Exam and there is a Crossover map that maps to the sections of the 6th PMBOK."

But I'm not sure how - in the following crossover map - the new exam's task number (e.g.) 1.1 maps to the section 3.1 of 6th PMBOK. I'm thinking what the user Veroneque Matadin may have meant to say was the numbers (e.g. 1.1) in the first column of the crossover map are mapped with the task numbers (e.g. 3.1) from the ECO of the old exam. But unfortunately I'm unable to find the ECO of the old exam. An online search shows the ECO of only the new exam.

Hi Raz,

Personally, I think it's better not to stick to mapping to PMBOK 6th ed.
No matter what lifecycle you choose, I don't think the project manager's scope will be significantly changed from the existing knowledge area.
This may not be a direct answer to your question, but check the following video for reference.

Raz,

the reference in this table is NOT to the PMBoK but to the old ECO.
The list is valuable for some reasons, one being that it shows which topics are considered new. You certainly should concentrate some effort on those.

"the reference in this table is NOT to the PMBoK but to the old ECO."

That's what I thought. Thank you for further clarifying.
I wish the old ECO was available somewhere online. An online search shows only the new ECO.

As you also mentioned, I'm spending good deal of time on the new topics highlighted in the list.
