Hello everyone,
I am working on assisting with Scoping a New eComm site. I am new to eComm for the most part and I am just looking for any experience you have had with eComm sites, mostly looking in the area of duration. I know this has a ton of variables. But looking for averages or just insight. We plan to use Big Commerce platform and will leverage the word press site for Marketing pages. Saving Changes...

I have, and we are meeting sooner. I have reviewed the past Projects they have worked on, 3 failed sites and 1 site that has taken 2 years with many problems. I am just reaching out to the PM community to gather some experienced knowledge.

I worked in a company which was one of the pioneers to sell all related to ecommerce sites and deliver projects in the matter. So, I was involved in a lot. The key to be successful is to think the project based on an architecture driven way. The key is the architecture. Simplifying it remember that architecture is composed by business, application, technical, information and security layers where each layer is not related to software solution only. Take the time to understand and defining the architectural components into each layers and everything will go well. Saving Changes...
Get dedicated people from the business, if you can. If you have to wait for them to become available in order to provide content, give feedback on layout/appearance, test functionality (this is a big one), etc..., your schedule will never be accurate.
You'll also want them engaged, early, to help identify windows for launch. Business events on the calendar are easy to work around. You need insight into the events still being planned, or that come up after you start planning the project, that all of a sudden show up on the calendar and your date is suddenly unavailable.
