Is Citizen Development still a buzzword to you despite the massive growth of the low-code/no-code industry? Please share any organizational development benefits you have experienced with citizen development.

It is definitely a buzzword since it's being marketed as a brand name to create a buzz. Whether it is more than just a buzzword depends on brand differentiation.

I haven't quite figured out what PMI's branding strategy is for Citizen Development. Grassroots development isn't a new concept, nor are software development tools that are more user friendly.

PMI is definitely marketing the name, but whether they are promoting tools or a efficient development model, and how it fits with project management as a body of knowledge has so far escaped me.

Sure it would not be a buzzword anymore and you will understand the concept better when you join the revolution here www.pmi.org/citizendeveloper.

No, it is a new phrase but not popular.

That last sentence makes me nervous. PMI is an authoritative organization for the project management profession. We should be leading our profession, not causing revolutions in others.
