CAPM Exam via online proctored

I took the CAPM Exam this morning via online proctored, and it was not what I expected at all. From what I had read, I expected that there would be a person to speak to who would ask to see my workspace and verify that I didn't have anything off which I could cheat. I had read that they would ask to check my ears for headphones, ask me to roll up my sleeves to check for any writing, stuff like that. Instead, PearsonVue sent a link to my cell phone and had me take a selfie and four photos of the room I was in to get a "360 degree" view. Once I uploaded the photos, I was given authorization to start the exam, and that was it. I never spoke to anyone, and no one asked to "inspect" my workstation. I could see the camera of myself while I was taking the exam, but that was all. Has anyone else had the same experience in taking the CAMP exam? I thought it would be much stricter than it was!

Dear Aubrey
Thank you for sharing this question and for reporting your experience.
Is what I feared happening?
I feared that exams would become much easier and that, as a result, CAPM and PMP certifications would lose value.

I hope that's not true, that the certifications lose value! I will say, the exam was not easy, but I just thought the proctoring piece would be much stricter.

Hi Aubrey.
That sounds a little strange to me. When I did an online exam last summer, I had to show my full room using the webcam of my laptop, roll up my sleeves and even turn out all my pockets. I believe there was someone monitoring me via webcam for the full exam too.
As someone going to sit the exam in a few weeks, I was just wondering if you are let have paper for notes, calculations and so forth? I know in the 'in person exams' you are given sheets of blank paper and was just wondering if you can provide clean sheets of paper for yourself?
Also, I see you cannot use a touch screen device (such as a Microsoft surface). Can anyone confirm this?
Hopefully these examination techniques do not lessen the value of these certifications, especially for those that studied hard for them.
Not sure if I helped with the conversation, but I understand your viewpoint.
Regards Cian.

Hi Cian,
Yes I did think it was strange that the online proctoring wasn't more strict. If you are doing the online proctored exam, I believe you are allowed to have a sheet or two of blank paper and a calculator for calculations. And yes, you have to use a laptop or desktop computer with a camera (no touch-screen devices).
Good luck on your exam!

Update
Hi all. I have just completed and passed my CAPM online this morning (yay!). I just want to share with anyone that you cannot have any notes or note paper with you in the exam. You are given a 'virtual whiteboard' and calculator in the exam software to use. Just a heads up for anyone hoping to use pen and paper with a calculator like I was.
Hope this helps someone.

I took my ACP online, in 2020. It was mostly the way Aubrey described. I did have to show that I was putting my phone a good distance from my desk. Even though I had hit the washroom before, I still had to finish my exam before my bladder exploded, a good hour early. (There were no scheduled breaks.)

The big question is... did you pass?

The CAPM is the same with no breaks. I believe the PMP has breaks after 60 questions. I defiantly recommend to only take light drinks before and during the exam. Like that, I also felt a bit rushed to finish the exam. I also had a bit of an issue checking-in that didn't help the situation!
I was told to keep my phone just out of hand reach if I needed to be contacted by the proctor. As a result, I had my phone vibrating during the exam with notifications which was a little distracting.
Thankfully Stéphane, I passed with above target in all but 1 area (target in the other).
