To what extent does the outsourcing of professionals (managers and team members), in this situation, make work more difficult?

It comes down to the system within which those outsourced folks are introduced as well as the personalities and interpersonal skills of the outsourced folks.

I have worked with companies where they do a great job of integrating external workers into their work force and helping the internal staff understand the "why" behind the decisions to go external.

I've also worked with companies where the system and leadership behavior demonstrates a desire to create an "us and them" dynamic with divisiveness between the two groups.

I'd suggest that companies which do a good job of integrating external workers within their teams for in-person work likely will do the same for virtual work.

So long as external workers are (within reason) treated the same as internal staff then it comes down to the effectiveness of the company's onboarding processes, their technology infrastructure to support virtual work, and the receptiveness of teams for new additions.
