My organization is having a debate on to start using Prime Contractors for large utility projects. Previously the organization has been completing work using several different subcontractors.

Are there papers, reports or other historical evidence that says for larger projects, greater than $5+ million that it is better to use a prime contractor versus owners directly managing the subcontractors.
