Best Ways to Find PM Talent

Right now we have several openings in my PMO and it has been surprisingly hard to find a really qualified candidate pool. A bit surprising considering what I feel we offer related to the type of work, pay, benefits, etc.

I noticed PMI has a job posting area, but not cheap at almost $400 per posting: https://careercenter.pmi.org

Has anyone used this service and was it effective, or what have been your most successful methods to find high performing PM talent?

I believe that good PM's are easier to "make" (i.e. train) than to find. By promoting someone from within who is already familiar with your company and how it works, and presumably with the desire to take on something new and tackle it, you get the chance to mold someone into the best kind of PM that you know works within your company and environment.
I agree Bob, in many cases I do prefer training young talent who have the right aptitudes. We have been screening internal candidates as well.

We have several openings in our PMO and also struggling to find some good talent. Our jobs are posted everywhere across the company and still struggling. Yes, we are using PMI's career site, but no hits yet. :(
Interesting trend for what I would think is a very desirable career option for many folks.

I put up a PMI global posting, I was told by our recruiting team they did get a large number of applications that they are working on screening. Unfortunately our screening process is too slow and I haven't seen many of them yet. A few solid candidates at senior level. We do have some of those slots, but at the moment I have openings for early career folks in my team.
